Bryden Mugleston - Bellus Academy - Special Guest Artist

As early as elementary school Bryden Mugleston started expressing his artistic passion as a drummer in bands and various musical projects. This desire to create would ultimately lead him to become a hairdresser. This path may have been pre-destined seeing as some of his first memories were of his grandfather and mother working in the family salon in the mid 80's. In 2002, Bryden made the move from Canada to California.

This change would end up leading him to San Diego where he enrolled in cosmetology school. During Brydens time in cosmetology school he embraced the theory's behind " Cutting hair the Sassoon way ". Early in his career, Bryden gravitated towards a classic and precision style of hair design. Since graduating Bryden has had a " no compromise " attitude and a desire to make a positive change in the industry.

In 2006, this ambition lead him to open a salon in Pacific Beach, Ca. After three fulfilling years of owning his salon, Bryden made the leap into full time education. At the present, Bryden is living his dream as an educator at Bellus Academy in San Diego, Ca. He has specialized in teaching ABC cutting and colour techniques.

Honored by being named Assistant Artistic Director in 2010, he is currently working at evolving the current programs and culture of the academy. Recognizing the impact his mentors had on him, Bryden strives to offer his students those same keys that they will need to succeed.
